This frequently asked questions (FAQ) is a work in progress. Feel free to ask any questions not found here so I can include them.
Can I still earn <name> badge?
All badges can be earned any time they are released to the public. When a badge is released, not only have all the steps been reviewed, but all graphics and certificates have been prepared.
Some limited badge programs, such as the Girl Scout 100th Anniversary, are only earnable during the time they are relevant. Special badges such as this are in their own list which is edited when it is no longer available.
Older badges which have been updated cannot be earned.
How do I earn a badge?
You do the steps and document the time you put into doing so. You provide this information along with the badge you worked on and the name you wish to be on the certificate. Please put “Enrich Expert” in the subject line to help me identify these quickly. If you do not hear anything from me within a week, please send the email again. Sometimes it’s crazy around here.
I will provide you with a 96 ppi JPG for posting and a 300 ppi JPG for printing of the badge as well as a PDF of the appropriate certificate.
The time information is needed to determine which certificate.
- Youth / Beginner – 3 or more hours
- Adult / Intermediate – 10 or more hours
- Mentor / Trainer / Advanced – 20 or more hours
This is a reduction from the original 40 hours to earn the top badge. See the badge program “First 20 Hours” to learn more.
Are only Girl Scout volunteers able to earn these badges?
No. I would love Boy Scouts, Guides, homeschoolers, afterschool providers and any adult working with youth to utilize the Enrichment Project as a resource for their programming. I’ve also helped people planning activities for local nursing homes with the digital badge programs.
If you’re an adult who just thinks it would be fun to try a badge like you did when you were a kid, feel free to join us! You don’t have to work with kids. You may need to adjust the steps a little, though, to fit your needs.
What does it cost?
The Enrichment Project is designed to be free. All badge programs, digital badges, and printable certificates are provided at no charge. The goal is to give you the steps to improve your knowledge so that you can help others.
Do I need the supplemental files?
If you understand the steps in the program, you may choose not to use the supplemental files. Supplemental files are provided to help clarify steps and give additional information to help earn a badge program.
You can use online resources or create your own handouts when you present this to your kids.
Do you have a list of badges that are going to be released?
Badges currently being worked on are listed and tracked on Trello.

Do you have a list of badges that have been released?
While I try to keep the lists on this site updated, it doesn’t happen as quickly as I’d like. Lists for you to access include:
- Alphabetical
- Categorical
- Release date
- Sets
You can find it in the pull down menu under Badge Lists or check out the board on Trello.

Are you going to have badges to purchase?
At this time, I do not. The cost is prohibitive. When I find a way to do this where I’m not going broke, this will be revisited.
Can I share the badge programs with other adults?
I love sharing. You can send the PDFs, links or even print out information to do local trainings. I just ask that you let them know where you received the information so your participants can find additional badge programs.
Can I make a CD / DVD with all the materials here and charge just enough to cover my costs for anyone interested?

You may archive the files for personal use.
In addition, all items I’ve created that contain my copyright may not be sold, redistributed, or archived for money either. They are created for personal use only.
The only time these may be printed / shared is when they are part of an Activity Box. My copyright and / or Creative Commons license must remain on the materials. They must not be sold or rented for profit. See the “Activity Box” badge set for more information.
Some items are public domain. There are specific categories in the supplements for these items – specifically Ephemera Fun and Found. For more information on public domain materials, see the “Public Domain” badge set.
There are also items that may still be under copyright, but not accessible. For example, old badge programs hosted on the GSUSA website were PDFed. If items like this are requested to be removed from the library, they will be until they become part of the public domain.
